Special Items
Jamesburg's Recycling Drop-Off Center is located at the Municipal Garage on Duane Street. Hours of operation are Wednesday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 8 a.m. – 12 noon. The Jamesburg Recycling Center accepts all recyclables collected curbside, as well as used residential motor oil (up to 5 gallons) and grass. No plastic bags in Dumpster. Household garbage is NOT accepted.

White Goods/Appliances are collected on Thursdays. Residents at Beaver Brook and Quarry Cove must call for an appointment.

Leaves & Brush
Leaves are collected curbside beginning October 25, 2010, through January 7, 2011. Rake loose leaves to the curb, no closer than 10 feet from any storm drain inlet, during the 7 days prior to your area’s scheduled collection date. You may also place leaves at the curb in biodegradable bags ONLY. These bagged leaves will be picked up every other Sunday. Biodegradable bags can be purchased at area hardware stores. Call (732) 521-3335 for schedule information. PLEASE NOTE: Leaves in plastic bags will not be picked up.

Brush and Logs may be delivered to the Borough Recycling Center. Delivered brush will be chipped on-site. Chips will be available to Jamesburg residents.

Christmas Trees must be dropped off at Recycling Center.

Book Smart
Students throughout the County are getting hands-on recycling education with the introduction of a book recycling program sponsored by the MCIA and the County. Outdated hardcover and softcover books that can no longer be used, sold or given away are being recycled in this program. Students remove the hard covers from books and then reap the rewards: The recycling processor pays for each ton recycled.

Shred It!
Middlesex County residents are invited to recycle old documents and confidential files safely and securely at mobile shredding events scheduled throughout the year. Bring old files, receipts, bills, financial statements and any documents that have not been recycled due to confidentiality concerns and watch them get shredded on-site. Call the County Division of Solid Waste Management, (732) 745-4170, for dates and locations.
