Charities Raise Money At The Meadows

July 02, 2007 -- The Meadows at Middlesex Golf Course last week hosted two charities dedicated to helping children, teens and seniors.

On Mon., June 25, eighty-four golfers attended the outing, said Susan Disario, manager of the Meadows at Middlesex. The money, which was raised through the HUBS (Honesty, Unity, Brotherhood and Service), will support scholarships for two Perth Amboy High School students, the Menlo Park Soldiers Home, Kiddie Keep Well Camp and Mount Fatima parish.

An additional 80 golfers attended a separate golf outing on Thurs., June 28. Proceeds from that event will support the HUB Teen Center in New Brunswick, which offers after-school activities such as a driving range, batting cage, movie theater, dance studio, fitness center, café, and computer lab.

Disario said this is the third year HUBS hosted its charity outing at the Meadows at Middlesex. She said everyone was thrilled with the condition of the course.

"Of the 80 golfers on Thursday, only about 20 have been here before," Disario said. "So, 60 people are enjoying the golf here at the Meadows and I'm sure they will come back and golf again."
