Golf Cart That Accommodates People with Limited Mobility Added to Fleet at Middlesex County Course
November 16, 2007
--Human Services representatives and golfers cheered the addition of a cart that can accommodate people with limited mobility to the fleet at one of Middlesex County's golf courses.
Golfers can play from the single-rider cart because it is equipped with a swivel seat that has a 360-degree turning radius and is light enough to traverse the entire course, including greens. It can be reserved for use at Raritan Landing Golf Course in Piscataway.
"The single-rider cart is a great addition to our fleet," said Leonard J. Roseman, chairman of the Middlesex County Improvement Authority (MCIA). "It enables golfers with limited mobility to enjoy the game and enhances the County’s quality recreational opportunities for residents of all abilities."
The Middlesex County Improvement Authority operates the County’s four golf courses: two at Tamarack in East Brunswick and the courses at Raritan Landing and the Meadows at Middlesex in Plainsboro.
The MCIA purchased the Eagle SGC, and expects to purchase additional single-rider carts for the other courses in the near future.
Golfers may reserve the cart in four-hour blocks when scheduling a tee time. Call the Raritan Landing Course directly at 732-885-9600.
The Middlesex County Human Services Department, the Middlesex County Commission for Persons with Disabilities and individual residents strongly supported this purchase.
