Admissions Soar at Roosevelt Care Center

October 19, 2006 -- Roosevelt Care Center is proud to have reached an important milestone with the admission of more than 400 residents and patients. These growing numbers affirm the Roosevelt Care Center’s 70-year commitment to provide outstanding long-term, rehabilitative and hospice care to the local community.

"We are happy that so many people have found a home here at Roosevelt," said Dr. Frank Damiani, director of resident care. "This achievement could not have been possible without the dedication of the nurses, therapists and other staff members who work tirelessly to make each and every resident comfortable."

Roosevelt Care Center sits on a 20-acre campus on a hilltop overlooking a lake in Roosevelt Park and directly adjacent to the Menlo Park Mall. The facility offers a host of specialized services, including: sub-acute rehabilitation and wound care, a dementia/Alzheimer’s program and a pain management program featuring alternative forms of healing such as Reiki and aromatherapy.

In addition to the quality medical care, Roosevelt offers a range of activities and programs designed to enhance the residents’ experience. Residents can choose to go on outings, such as trips to the zoo, the movies or nearby restaurants, or enjoy one of the many themed events such as Valentine’s or St. Patrick’s Day parties. Each week, Roosevelt welcomes volunteer and professional entertainers who perform throughout the facility.

At Roosevelt, residents will surely find an enjoyable activity since they are the ones who choose the programs.

"The community is realizing that the services we offer are one-of-a-kind," said Alan Fialka, assistant administrator. "Word of mouth has caught on."

In January of 2005, the Roosevelt Care Center unveiled a brand new 180-bed state-of-the-art facility. Further upgrades and improvements are planned, including a second 120-bed facility, as well as renovations to the historic building.
