ROOSEVELT CARE CENTER One Roosevelt Drive, Edison, NJ 08837 (732) 321-6800 Dr. Frank Damiani, Director of Resident Care / Licensed Administrator |
The Middlesex County Improvement Authority is the owner, license-holder and operator of this long-term care facility located in Roosevelt Park.
The latest survey by the NJ Dept. of Health and Senior Services took place in September 2009. The survey consisted of an extensive review of all systems and levels of care within the facility. The surveyors made special note of the home-like atmosphere at Roosevelt and mentioned as an example - how well the residents are taken care of at the coffee shop. The team praised the outcomes of the patient care portion of the survey noting that all 13 categories were deficiency free including: resident rights, admission/transfer/discharge rights, resident behavior and facility practice, quality of life, resident assessment, quality of care, nursing services, physician services, specialized rehabilitation services, dental services, pharmacy services, infection control and administration. The survey team specifically pointed to outstanding work in fall prevention/investigation and restraint prevention.
We have in place a dynamic team that is achieving good results and the future of Roosevelt Care Center looks bright. Management teams are headed by:
Dr. Frank Damiani oversees clinical care.
Alan
Fialka, Assistant Administrator, is in charge of Admissions.
Joan Karpinski, Director of Nursing, oversees
the direct care of Roosevelt residents.
Paul Abbey is the Director of Resident Services and works closely with the administration to ensure delivery of services to residents.
The Roosevelt Campus consists of a historic building with a 6-story addition as well as the 180-bed Parsonage Road building that opened in May of 2005. The current census at Roosevelt averages at 400 residents. The Middlesex County Board of Freeholders are moving forward with construction of a 180-bed long-term care center in Old Bridge.
